Winn Parish Medical Center is located in Winnfield, Louisiana, home of three governors and the Louisiana Political Hall of Fame. The tradition of caring service began in 1948 by a group of local physicians. A 48 bed hospital, originated as Winnfield General Hospital has grown and achieved maximum accreditation by the Joint Commision of Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO). From small to large but always a leader, Winn Parish Medical Center has emerged as a vibrant healthcare organization with outstanding diagnostic and treatment capabilities, while retaining its flair for warmth, concern and insight about the needs of patients and families.
Our hospital's goal is to provide quality health care to the people of Winnfield and its surrounding area and be regarded as a responsible and reputable employer of people in the community. Winn Parish Medical Center exhibits a commitment to provide the best patient care and health promotion and dedication to community outreach and giving. In fact, Winn Parish Medical Center has given more than $650,000 annually in indigent care to individuals from all walks of life that might otherwise have gone without care. Our hospital is an active member of the business community and contributes to the economic health of Winnfield through the payment of taxes, in excess of $100,000 annually and is one of the largest employers in Winn Parish with an annual payroll of 5.5 million dollars.
The vision which guides Winn Parish Medical Center is to expand service to meet the identified needs of the customers that we serve. Continuum of patient care has also been achieved through the addition of The Specialty Clinic and The Wellness Center. Expanding community health programs and recrument of new physicians are our major goals. Our facility is taking an active role in the awareness and prevention of disease through providing free health education to the community.
